Our history
The business was started by Dr. Matthias Rebernik as a result of the market insight gained when he did his PhD thesis in Liquid Hydrogen Storage for BMW passenger car division.
Increasing prospective customer interest meant private and public funding was won to get the prototypes through testing on test benches, OEM functional testing including simulation of driving, engine load profiles A to B city travelling, typical long haul routes, shaker/drop testing and thermal testing.
Successfully attained all necessary safety and testing certification for the product to be sold – ECE R110 certification (valid for UK and throughout the EU).
Cryoshelter goes live in the market.
A new market opportunity was recognized for LNG fuel tank storage for heavy duty trucks and an extensive R & D program and prototyping project commenced.
Hexagon Composites, a world leading designer and manufacturer of clean fuel solutions for commercial vehicles, invests in Cryoshelter GmbH.
Liquid storage of renewable natural gas (LNG) and hydrogen (LH2) will add a new dimension to its existing offering, complementing its portfolio and unlocking new opportunities for Hexagon Agility and Hexagon Purus, respectively.
